D – Drawing

Today, I would like to share with you a personal pieces of art. 😊

We were drawing Capybaras at the Kawaii Drawing Club®, and I felt inspired to draw this adorable "mama and baby" pair from a photo.

I plan to get a canvas print of these cuties to hang in our bathroom. Imagine... luxurious sand-colored (or orange!) towels, matching bathmats, some scented oils... my imagination is flying. 😃

I am just not sure how the art will do with steam and moisture. 😅 If you have any advice on this, please let me know!

Here is the inspo photo:

A – Affirmation

To be honest, I struggle with calling an artwork "done" to a point of actually sending it to print and bringing it into my home (I am working on this with the capybaras print! 😆).

Can you relate?

I constantly think... "I can tweak this" and "This part is not fully right" and "I can do better".

Not a virtue. A limitation of perfectionism, because most pieces never see the light!

I WANT to bring my creations into my home. I want people to enjoy them too.

So this week, I heard a concept that totally blew my mind:

80% is better than 100%.

What?!!! 80% is BETTER?!!

I am sitting with this idea... and it resonates!

W – Wonder

My art teacher says, "An artwork is done when you step back from it and nothing bothers you."

I like it! Very clear definition. 😄

I also think, this idea of "done" is subjective. And it can be very helpful to gain personal clarity around it.

So here is a question to wonder about this week:

I wonder... what is my personal definition of "done" for an artwork?

How do YOU decide that your drawing is done?

If you are open to share, please reply to this email! I read every message. 😊

Warm regards,
Tatyana
