D: drawing

I won't ever stop talking about "mash ups" when creating art. 😂

Combining existing themes & styles in new ways is the true definition of creativity!

That's exactly what we did at the Kawaii Drawing Club® for our weekly drawing tutorial.

Check out all the gorgeous butterflies by our KDC members! 😍 The watermelon butterfly is pure joy.

If you want to try your hand at adding folk art elements to YOUR illustrations, I've put together a Pinterest board with some of my favorites.

A: affirmation

It's interesting... no matter how long I create art, I still get into the space of "my art is not good enough". 😅

Intellectually, I know this is false.

But FEELING the falsehood of this thought, KNOWING in my heart ❤️ that my creations (everyone's creations!) are infinitely valuable, LOVING my creations... that's a different story.

I was journaling on it this morning... and received a reminder. Something I already knew, but forgot! 😆

If you feel called to create something, the audience for it already exists.

Every moment of inspiration is god speaking THROUGH me.

If I feel inspired to create something, then there is already a need for it in the world.

W: wonder

The logical brain is so important. It keeps us safe. 🫶

AND, it keeps us small (cause that's its job!).

But we also have a heart. The heart helps us GROW, feel, experience. The heart adds color to our world!

Both are important. Real power is knowing their different roles, and recognizing which thought comes from which.

Here is a question to wonder about this week:

I wonder... what part of the story I am telling myself comes from the head 🧠 and what from the heart ❤️?

Have a beautiful week. See you next Sunday!

Warm regards,
Tatyana
