D: Drawing

We are drawing cute animals from photos at the Kawaii Drawing Club®.

This magnificent photo was taken by a photographer Dick van Duijn, and it became our drawing inspiration for the week.

Here is my version that I shared as a tutorial at the Kawaii Drawing Club®:

And here is the AWESOME work by our KDC members! 😍

R: Resource

If you struggle with internal resistance, when sitting down to do your art, this book is a game-changer!

A: Affirmation

We've heard it a million times. 😆 It's not the destination – it's the journey.

But somehow... it's so easy to keep running through the days... doing more things and never really slowing down to smell the flowers (like our little squirrel in the drawing).

So here is this week's affirmation, beautifully said by Walter Hagen:

Don't hurry. Don't worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.

– Walter Hagen

W: Wonder

Here in Australia, we are nearing the end of winter. ⛸️

As I look back at the dark cold months, it feels like they just flew by!

Did I stop and smell the flowers? 😆

This made me reflect... what would make this winter (or any season) feel like I did "stop and smell the flowers"?

This is what immediately came to mind:

  • How many camp fires did we do?
  • How many board game nights (perfect for winter!)
  • How many cozy days with hot coco? ☕️
  • How many ice skating trips with the children?

This is how I can measure the "passing" of a season.

And suddenly, it doesn't feel like it's just flying by... 😊

So here is a question to wonder about:

I wonder... how do I measure "success" of a season or a phase of life?
What are the meaningful events that make it feel "lived" rather than "passed"?

Have a beautiful week! ❤️

Warm regards,
Tatyana
